Sprawled across 30 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, Welcomgroup’s Mughal Sheraton blends comfortably with the Mughal heritage of the city. So it did not come as a major surprise when we learnt that the property won the prestigious Aga Khan award for excellence in Mughal architecture. In addition to croquet and tennis courts, jogging trails and other recreational facilities that stud its sprawling lawns (there is even a football field), they also have a special children’s park with buggy rides and a kennel dub. The heart of the hotel is its 300 rooms and suites, all of which overlook a modern version of Mughal gardens and some even have a view of the Taj. Three banquet halls that can accommodate 175, 50 and 25 people can also be fitted with modern equipment and used to host conventions.
